Forums back up!

*phew*

Finally the forums are back - and without "\\r\\n"s!

The MySQL transfer got messed up, and newlines got double backslashes everywhere which showed to be the problem. That is now fixed, so everything should be back and alive smile.gif. Heads up to Orc for bughunting that one with me.

(Open dev might not be able to remote compile atm - but i will look into that soon smile.gif).

New host, open dev
March 11 2007 05:33
news
Hey everyone.

New host
I have finally gotten around moving TZP (and my other sites) to a new host. We have had major problems with Surftown (downtime, files removed due to traffic usage (remember that one?) and so on...), but our new one should be much better. It is a bit more expensive than the old one, but the service should be excellent. (Now we have 2 TB of traffic per month, compared to Surftown removing our files when they used 20 GB... And they even claim our hosting solution has "free traffic"!)

It shouldn't affect you guys too much. The transfer will happen on friday (16/03/07) and to avoid data loss, the forums will be closed down on the current host while the DNS servers are updating. It should only take 48 hours at worst.

Open Development
Regarding open dev, jeefo is doing a lot of nice work on the HLG core and a speedhack detector (or was it a blocker? Oh well...) Wazzer has been helping out and created a working CS silent bomb plant fixer as well. Good work guys smile.gif - hopefully Zero (whoops, thats me, darn!) will get around figuring out how and when we will get 1.9 released sometime soon.

(P.s., I believe there will be a nice list of blocked cvars from the config team too, for not to speak of new configs for 1.9 too of course!)

Interested people are still urged to keep an eye on our IRC channel (#thezproject @ QuakeNet).

Members pruned, new nightly configs, HLG open dev
January 11 2007 04:50
news
Hey again.

1492 members (most hopefully spam bots) just got the knife. Sorry if anyone else was hit, if so, please sign up again wink.gif.

Headcrab also released the first real set of configs for the 1.9 nightly builds, so if you are using one of those, go get them now!.

HLGuard Open Development is also rolling quickly with much more submissions than expected (or hoped!). Nice to see this kind of support! We have got plenty of submissions and plans for MANY new things, from a new aim warn system to a wiki, go check out the HLGuard Open Development forum (Code will be rolled out on SVN soon smile.gif)

Forum anti-spam thingy + HLG news (soon)
January 07 2007 13:19
news
Quick note: I've messed around with the forums a bit to prevent an invasion from spam bots. To clean up, old accounts with less than 5 posts will be deleted in about a week from now if they have not logged in and "verified" themselves before that time.

To "verify"/"activate" your account, simply log in and follow the directions (you just have to reply to a thread, and you are all done).

HLG development is undergoing some great changes at the moment as well. For those who are interested, check out the HLG forums (especially the new one - "HLGuard Open Development" (Crap, i spilled it there, didn't i? smile.gif).
